| This historic city on the River Neckar is served by a 20.7km metre-gauge tramway, operated as part of the Rhein-Neckar network that also serves neighbouring Mannheim and Ludwigshafen. As well as the city trams, a 61km interurban light railway, the OEG, links the centre of Heidelberg with Mannheim by two routes, a direct line via Seckenheim and a longer route via Weinheim.
